Future Building Plans

Lighthouse Fellowship Baptist Church has existed as an outpost of Christ’s kingdom here in Kincardine for 31 years. Through those 31 years God has been faithful to walk with us and lead us.

Today we are in a unique place of experiencing God’s blessing. The blessing that folks at our church have faithfully prayed for over the years. God in His abundant grace has had His hand upon us and brought us to where we are today.

In August 2000, the church dedicated their first building. While the church had been in existence for 6 years, they finally had a place to call home, a place where they could gather. It was in this building that the Gospel was preached, baptisms were held, and discipleship took place. God in His mercy continued to bless and in the Winter of 2013 the classroom/office wing was opened.

The church is not the building, but the building God has blessed us with has served the church well as a place to gather and to do ministry from. The building is a tool for God’s people to use. Our building is also a visible reminder to our community of our presence and witness.

In the Spring of 2022, we began talking about expanding our building. This conversation was a result of what we saw God doing in our church. God was drawing many people to Himself and to our church. To be good stewards of what we saw God doing, we began the conversation and planning of expanding our church building once again.

Why a Building Project?

The obvious answer to this question is because we are more than filling our current building. However, a church addition is only one response to this growth. Some have suggested we simply add an additional service or plant another church.

The addition of a second worship service may yet be in our future, but we do not believe this is the long-term solution for our church nor does this solve all our space problems. We realized early in our planning that we were confined with space in many ways not just in sanctuary capacity. We had experienced so much growth that we needed a comprehensive building plan that addressed those various needs.

The idea of planting a church is a great idea. We love the idea of taking the Gospel beyond our community. We want to see all people reached with the Gospel. We would hope that planting a church might yet be in our future but at this time do not believe it is the next step.

We believe expanding our current building is the best way to steward the blessing of growth we have experienced and the best way to make an impact for the Gospel in our area. As we look around our area, no town is expected to see as much growth in the next 10-20 years as Kincardine. The MCR project and talk of Bruce C has our town planning for as much as 25% growth (Approximately 3000 people). We are already beginning to see some of that growth take place.

We want to expand our church building as a long-term investment in our community. We believe it will set us up well to continue ministering in our town as it grows. We also believe God has uniquely positioned Lighthouse as a training church. We see the expanding of our building as an opportunity to further invest in and train up the next generation of believers.

The goal is to begin the project in the Spring of 2027 and build as much as we have funds for.
